Expanding fingers which swivel are mounted in a socket at base of a cylinder to hold the spool sleeve. The fingers (8) swivel through slits (14) in the wall (13) into the inside of the cylinder (6) and swivel out of the wall against the insert direction of the spool sleeves. At least three fingers (8) are evenly spaced round the circumference of the cylinder. The swivel path of the fingers is restricted by the inner wall of the spool sleeves. As the weight of the spool increases, the force components in the spreading direction of the fingers becomes proportional. ADVANTAGE - Universal use for spool sleeves of different diameters.
