The tubular foil bag (27) is guided through the gap in the rollers (38,40) which have radially protruding displacement webs (39) spaced round their outer circumference and whose length corresponds to the width of the foil tube (27). Each displacement web of one roller comes into contact with a displacement web of the other. The sealing station (9) which provides the foil tube with sealing seams also have two oppositely rotating rollers with similar radially protruding heated sealing webs. ADVANTAGE - The contents of the bags are reliably separated into portions and sealed by a very narrow sealing seam.
