The timing gear consists of a cam (1), rotating about an eccentric pivot point (16), and a cam path (2). During rotation of the cam, the cam side (20) moves along the cam path, which is fixed in circumferential direction, but is movable in a direction from inside to outside, or vice versa. The cam path movement is caused by the cam stroke (8) and by cam path stroke (7). It is directly transferred to a valve (4), via a tappet, etc. The cam path is divided into two parts. The outer end of the cam carries a roller. ADVANTAGE - desired torque is available at every rotary speed of the camshaft.
