The camshaft (2) is for an engine with variable valve drive. The cams (4) opening the intake valve during the ejection stroke are formed so that opening timing and/or the opening period of the valve can be adjusted during the ejection stroke. The cams opening the outlet valves during the intake stroke are formed, so that the opening timing and/or period of the valve can be adjusted during the intake stroke. The cams are additional cams, turnable about the longitudinal axis (3) of the camshaft relative to the main cam (1).
