The IC engine cylinder head has a connector for a flanged pipe elbow to the open gas duct. A rail (5) is located on the cylinder head (1) near the gas duct (2), which forms an undercut (6). The flange part of the pipe elbow (4) is inserted into and clamped in the undercut. A screw connection between the cylinder head and pipe flange is located at a point outside the inserted flange.The undercut and flange have complementary, wedge-shaped clamp surfaces. The screw connection consists of a bore in the flange, and a threaded bolt, passing through it into a threaded bore in the cylinder head. ADVANTAGE - simple,single-pass assembly of pipe elbow modules.
