The device has a flange (6) to be applied against a cylinder head (3) of an internal combustion engine (1) and to cooperate with an end (8) of an exhaust gas pipe (2) made up of stainless steel, and a counter flange (9) integrated to the cylinder head. A fixation unit (10) fixes the pipe on the cylinder head. A pre-assembling unit (24) assures pre-assembling of the flange and counter flange before fixation of the device on the head.
