DEVICE FOR PREVENTING DAMAGE TO BUILDINGS IN GROUND MOVEMENT AREAS

A device for damage prevention on buildings in areas of ground movement has a top shell (1) and a bottom shell (2). Arranged between the shells (1, 2) is at least one supporting spring (3) which can be preloaded in accordance with the change in soil pressure on account of the abnormal ground movement. In order to avoid additional arrangements which in each case require separate chambers, foundations or bases on common foundations, the device according to the invention has at least one threaded rod (4) which is arranged between the top shell (1) and the bottom shell (2) parallel to the supporting spring, projects into the top shell (1) and bottom shell (2) and is firmly attached at an end section to the bottom shell (2) or the top shell (1). Provided at the other end section of the threaded rod (4) is a follow-up nut (11) which with one side can be brought into contact with the top shell (1) or bottom shell (2) and at the other side is in engagement with a torsion spring (10) by means of which the follow-up nut (11) can be preloaded in contact with the top shell (1) or bottom shell (2) and which is in engagement at its end remote from the follow-up nut with a clamping nut (9) secured by a lock nut (8).
