Vapour pressure refrigerator for car air conditioning - has inclined evaporator with capillary feed from water reservoir exiting downwards to input of zeolite sorption container

The vapour pressure refrigerator plant has an energy source working on the sorption process with water as the working fluid and a zeolite container as the sorption source (7). The air stream to be conditioned passes past a working fluid-evaporator (1) whose input side is connected to the working fluid reservoir (5) and whose output side is connected to the sorption source. The evaporator has several finned parallel tubes (2a,2b,2c) and the input from the water reservoir is via a network of capillary tubes (3), with a control valve (4) between them and the reservoir. It is inclined to the vertical so that the inlet is higher than the outlet. There is a supplementary heater (9) in the water reservoir. ADVANTAGE - No separate pump for working fluid required.
