Process and assembly to clean reverse osmosis membrane block - enhancing cleaning efficiency and reducing time required

A process to clean a membrane block which is part of a reverse osmosis unit separates a pressurised fluid into a concentrate and a permeate. The novelty is that: the concentrate is drained off at the beginning of the cleaning process; during a first phase of the cleaning process, a solvent is led to the membrane block, the permeate drained off and the volume flow of the drained concentrate is alternately reduced and increased; during a second phase, the solvent is led to the membrane block and the permeate is returned into the cleaning process; during a third phase, washing water is fed to the membrane block in place of solvent; and during a third phase, the permeate is returned into the cleaning process. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process facilitates the rinsing and cleaning of a membrane block in a reverse osmosis process. The process enhances the efficiency of the cleaning process and considerably reduces the time required.
