Output tray proof sheets extracting device for printing machine - has front guides for stack swung away allowing proof sheet to slide across stack by kinetic energy

The device consists of front guides establishing the front edge of the stack, retractable auxiliary guides (4) and the stack retainer in the form of retractable fingers (6) above the stack. The front guides are swung out of the way after the auxiliary guides are swung in so that the front guides make way for the arriving proof sheet. Through its residual kinetic energy, this sheet is delivered beyond the front edge of the stack. Almost simultaneously, the fingers are retracted over the proof sheet. On both sides of the auxiliary guide, there are fans (5) which blow against the sheet delivery direction. The end of the extraction operation is signalled by a light barrier (7) arranged above and below the fingers (6). ADVANTAGE - Utilises kinetic energy of proof sheet to help in its extraction.
