The striker mechanism comprises a piston (3) operating in a cylinder (2) controlled by a main valve (1). This valve is in the form of a round pusher with differential pressure surfaces, and is associated with a safety device which keeps it shut when not under the influence of compressed air. The adjuster piston (16) working in a cylindrical bore (15) in the striker casing parallel to the body of the main valve, operates against a coiled spring (18) and is activated by the flanged head (17) of the piston in contact with the flanged projection (21) on the free end of the main valve casing. USE/ADVANTAGE - The inlet valve safety device is simple in design and construction.
