An electronic processing unit built into a road vehicle provides diagnostic and service conditions. The system provides in partic. a continuous monitoring of average fuel consumption and other technical data. The vehicle system has a display, keyboard and inputs from various sensors. Signals may be generated to indicate that fuel has been entered into the tank and the relative amts. logged into memory, together with current mileage readings.
