The direct memory access controller (10) writes digital signals into the memory (5) and reads them out for processing by a DSP chip (2) connected to the controller (10), memory (5) and input/output device (4). Data are transmitted from the controller (10) when the input/output period is shorter than the task processing time, and from the processor (2) to the input/output device (4) when the input/output period is longer. ADVANTAGE - Data can be accessed without loss even when input/output period of external equipment is shorter than data-processing period of processor.
