The electrical potentiometer has a rotary slider (21) mounted to a contact carrying spring arm (22). At the end of the arm is a sliding contact (23) that engages a resistive track (24) formed on the potentiometer surface (20). On both sides of the contact are sliding contact elements (25,26) that are made of an electrically non-conductive material. These maintain the surface clean of particles.
