The drive from the drive shaft (4) to the hub (3) is via a first stage with an outer ring (7) driving the sun wheel (13) of the second stage. A fixed support (19) is coupled to the hollow gear (9) of the first stage to complete the drive. Opening the coupling allows the hub to rotate freely. The clutch is compact and is axially movable on splines on the two supports. USE/ADVANTAGE - Hub drives. Compact clutch with large torque capability.
