Exhaust-return system for pressure-charged engine - has exhaust turbocharger with compressor in by=pass pipe for gas returned to engine intake

The return system has a bypass pipe (12) connecting the exhaust system upstream of the pressure-charger to the engine intake (5) and containing a control unit. A compressor-section (14) of an exhaust turbocharger (7) for the returned gas is also incorporated in the bypass pipe. A return pipe (17) can be connected between the bypass pipe upstream of the compressor-section and the exhaust pipe (3) downstream of the turbocharger, and there can be a 3/2-way valve (15) with inlet connected to the compressor-section and outlets to the engine intake and return pipe. USE/ADVANTAGE - Minimum power consumption or increase in exhaust-system back-pressure in pressure-charged engine.
