The combined laminated plate clutch and brake is housed inside a box (15,43) extending from the planetary gearbox housing (12,40). The press flywheel (30,45) is mounted on the boss and runs either on roller bearings (31) or a hydrostatic bearing 48). Oil to lubricate and cool the clutch and brake is supplied through oil passage (26) in the centre of the gearbox input shaft (20), and is passed on to lubricate the gearbox by axial oil holes (16). Alternatively, pressurized oil for hydrostatic lubrication of the flywheel is supplied to the bearing pockets (48) through oil hole (49,50) in the gearbox housing. ADVANTAGE - All moving parts are included in oil circulation, extending equipment life. Hydrostatic lubrication ensures long life of heavily loaded bearing.
