The detector system extends across the width of a road, comprising the areas left edge (LR), second lane (FS2), first lane (FS1) and right edge (RR). Thirteen small inductive loops, measuring 1m by 0.7m wide, are positioned next to each other across the total width. Large induction loops G1 to G10, the size of 4 small loops, are also superimposed and overlap each other. Three cars (F1,F2,F3) are present, causing the state of the small induction loops to take the values shown in row Z, that is 0 for not occupied, 1 for occupied.
