The measuring system has an induction loop (5) in and under a surface of a lane. The induction loop is formed or equipped for detecting vehicles (7). A selection unit (11) is provided for Radio frequency identification (RFID)signals. A part of the induction loop is coupled to RFID receiving system under formation of an RFID antenna with the selection unit. An independent claim is included for a method for recording vehicle-based data in a vehicle information system.
