The reduction gearing has the individual cogs arranged to obtain axial and radial counter-bearing forces within the gearing mechanism, so that the bearing and friction forces for the input drive shaft or rotor are reduced. Pref. the gearing uses a relatively small dia. worm shaft (11) with two opposing thread sections cooperating with respective cogs (2,5), with a further cog (4) being adjustable to compensate mfg. tolerances. ADVANTAGE - Reduced vibration and noise at high input revs.
