Cassette system for handling printed circuit boards - uses modular cassettes each with sliding register plate for matching different circuit board sizes

The cassette system uses different cassette sizes for receiving different printed circuit board formats. The different size cassettes (1,2) each have a parallel, sliding register plate (5) spaced from an opposing register plate (4) to match the circuit board size. Two adjacent cassettes (1,2) can be coupled together to accommodate circuit boards with a greater length than that of the individual cassettes. The cassettes can be adapted for relatively narrow circuit boards by insertion of an intermediate register plate (8) dividing the cassette reception space into two adjacent compartments. USE/ADVANTAGE - For transporting printed circuit boards between different stations during assembly, adaptable for wide range of different circuit board sizes using relatively small number of different cassettes.
