In a process to splice a textile yarn pneumatically, the yarn is laid in the splicer with exposed ends, which are untwisted and arranged with fibres parallel. These are then drawn back in to the splicer chamber to be pneumatically spliced, and then released. The process is accompanied by extra trimming cuts at each stage. The appts. is also claimed. The splicer is constructed to work automatically when the two ends of yarn are laid opposite to each other in the splicing chamber (41). Each end is held, and there are scissor motions which cut the yarn in specified places at the appropriate time. ADVANTAGE - The splice is accomplished without the loose ends being wrapped in to form a thick place in the yarn.
