An electric cable of flat profile contains several conductors, each of rectangular or circular cross-section. Between each conductor is an insulating member of circular cross-section and touching the two adjacent conductors. The flat array of conductors and insulators is embedded in a matrix of adhesive material and finally above and below is a layer of outer insulation, crimped together at the outer edges. The single insulators may be replaced by multiple contiguous round insulators. The cable is manufactured by running alternate strings of conductor and insulator through rollers coated with adhesive, after which they are sandwiched between layers of outer insulation in a second pair of rollers. ADVANTAGE - Allows high currents without possibility of insulation breakage when cable is bent.
