Mixt. (I) for making road markings consists of 16.00 (wt.)% special synthetic resin mixt. (II) as binder, 27.50% quartz sand + CaCO3 (III), 6.50% TiO2 (rutile) (IV) and 50.00% glass beads (V), instead of the prior-art mixt. of (II), 17.80% (III) + CaCO3, 8.60% (IV) and 15.00% (V). USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is suitable for continuous application with a sliding shoe and can also be applied by hand very well for small marks, e.g. arrows or lettering. The higher (V) content increases retroreflection and visibility at night and (I) also has the required highly thermoplastic properties. The (I) melt adheres well to all black road surfaces, although a primer is needed on concrete. On application, it sets rapidly and can take traffic within a few min.
