Sensor for absolute rotational angle measurement over several revolutions - has resolver as fine angle sensor element connected to rotating shaft to be monitored and coarse angle sensor elements each inductively coupled across reduction drive
An ADC (12) demodulates and converts the analogue AC voltage output signals of the inductive sensor elements in to a binary data word. A time multiplexer (8) sequentially supplies the analogue signals of the individual sensor elements to the ADC. An electronic evaluation circuit (10) in an intermediate storage stores the rotation angle data of the individual sensor elements existing as binary words. The data are combined to form an absolute angle information result over several revolutions. Ring core chokes (21, 22 fig 3) are provided as switching elements of the time multiplexer unit. The ring chokes have a switching winding and a connected winding (22). USE/ADVANTAGE - For measurements of engine shaft position. Good resolution, uninfluenced by electrical, magnetic, electromagnetic, thermal and radioactive interference effects, also mechanical vibration.
