A device for closing off a wall opening used for access to a switch cubicle embedded in concrete has a frame with soffit plate and a hinged door. The box section frame holds the hinge which has an arm projecting through the frame onto the rear of the door. The door has an opening angle of more than 90 degrees. The frame is made from extruded aluminium. Around its inner walls are shoulders which form location surfaces for the hinge unit, a tubular insert or a corner jointing piece. Alternatively, the frame for the hinge unit may be of two part form, a trough-shaped section abutting the concrete wall closed by an L-shaped piece. ADVANTAGE- Concealed hinges, easy waterproofing and full access to interior of cubicle.
