The engine operation is controlled by a processor. The idling speed is regulated by a simple bypass duct (9a) to the throttle valve (5) and by a simple feedback control. To prevent engine speed fluctuations or even stalling through misfires, a simple misfire detection circuit is included. If misfire is detected, then the airflow control is adjusted to compensate. Additional control can be via adjustment to the ignition timing. The engine speed is reset to a condition with minimum misfires. ADVANTAGE - Smoother running engine, less risk of stalling.
