Producing zigzag addresses for discrete cosine transformation in image data band compression - involves forming address for a stage from previous stage address using stored line and column differentials
The method involves setting initial conditions by nulling all line and column matrix memory addresses and specifying initial values for the memory addresses. A number of differential data with information about line and column differentials are continuously read from a memory. The line and column differentials are formed from the differential data and added to line and co,umn addreses in one stage to give the addresses in the next stage. The memory addresses in the next stage are continuously formed from the line and column addresses in the next stage. USE/ADVANTAGE - For discrete cosine transformation for use in image data band compression. Zigzag addresses are produced using a simple algorithm.
