A cutting device on an extruder for producing perforated bricks. The cutting device has a cutting loop (4) for cutting out clearances from the extrudate flank, as a result of which handling clearances are obtained on the finished perforated bricks. An actuating apparatus (3) moves the cutting loop back and forth in a cyclically controlled manner in a direction perpendicular to the extrudate flank. In the movement path of the cutting loop and directly next to the extrudate flank there is arranged a cam (20) which deflects, and thus elastically prestresses, the cutting loop, before penetration into the extrudate flank, in the movement direction of the extrudate (5).
