Device for aiding walking, of the crutch or English walking stick type. Its upper part consists of a bent metallic tube (2) assembled to a component (3) made from moulded plastic material, including a handle (30) and an end (31) in the form of an arc of a circle which are connected by an elongate body (32), the inner face (33) of which matches the contour of the tube (2) over approximately a half-circumference and includes a protuberance (34) introduced in an orifice (22) made in the tube (2) and pierced centrally with an orifice (35) intended to come opposite an orifice (41) pierced centrally in a similar protuberance (40) projecting from the inner face of a counterpiece (4) and introduced in an orifice (23) made in the tube (2) diametrically opposite the orifice (22), the assembly of the component (3) and of the counterpiece (4) on the tube (2) being effected by means of a screw (5).
