Immortalized cerebral endothelial cell lines, process for their preparation and applications thereof as a model for the study of cerebral physiopathology and more especially, as a cellular model of the hemato-encephalic barrier. Said lines are obtained by transfection of cerebral endothelial cells by means of a nucelic acid fragment comprising at least one fragment immortalizing a viral or cellular oncogene, optionally associated with at least one marker gene. The lines thus transfected are immortalized and exhibit the non-transformed phenotype of differentiated cerebral endothelial cells.
