- Metallurgy. - The new pig iron is characterised in that it has, at least locally and partly, a stabilised ferrito-perlitic structure and in that it includes, associated with the conventional elements known as usual compounds in the respective proportions: - not more than 1 % of copper, - and/or not more than 0.9 % of manganese, - and/or not more than 1 % of tin. - Application to glassmaking moulds.
