The mechanism comprises a fixed housing (1) containing two intersecting cylindrical cavities (2,3), each with a rotor (4,7). The axes of the rotors coincide with those of the cavities and are connected so that they turn in the same direction. The first rotor (4) is oval, with its edge extending almost to the wall of the cavity, while the second rotor is shaped so that the two are in virtually constant contact. The rotors form two chambers (11,13) of variable volume, linked to an inlet (8) and an outlet (9), one of which has a non-return valve. The side of each rotor has a cavity through which its shaft passes, and linked by channels to a peripheral groove. USE/ADVANTAGE - Operates without friction, being suitable for compressor, pump or i.c. engine.
