The roller is constructed so that the rolling surface is formed from hollow rubber tyres (11), which are not pressurised and are mounted on the rims (16). The radial height of the side walls (13) of the tyres is very small and the internal conical areas (14), of the tyres, form internal radial extensions of the side walls, and are mounted on to the correspondingly shaped bases (15) of the wheel rims. The conical areas have a large included angle such that the rolling surfaces (12) is composed of two areas, adjacent to the side walls (13), where the rolling pressure is relatively large and in the central area, where the pressure is relatively low or practically none. USE/ADVANTAGE - It provides a low cost realisation of a method of producing graded pressure for rolling.
