PURPOSE:To obtain a polyamide elastomer which is flexible, tough and transparent and suitable for hoses, tubes, etc., by condensing a carboxyl group-terminated polycapramide through dehydration, by a specified production process with polytetramethylene ether glycol. CONSTITUTION:A carboxyl group-terminated polycapramide (A), number-average MW of 500-5,000, obtained from a 4-20C aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, alicyclic dicarboxylic acid or aromatic dicarboxylic acid (e.g., terephthalic acid) and caprolactam is condensed with polytetramethylene ether glycol (B) of a number- average MW of 800-5,000 at a weight ratio of component A to component B of 10:90-60:40 through dehydration. In this way, a transparent polyamide elastomer of a polyamide partition ratio of 0.7-1.3, a Shore hardness of 60A-50D, a tensile strength at break =150kg/cm2 and a haze number at a thickness of 1mm=75% can be obtained.
