PURPOSE:To prevent a cloth to be sewn from slipping off from a sewing machine table by sensing if there is any cloth by a sensor provided on the sewing machine table, and furnishing a means to control a blower so that the cloth on a suction hole is attracted. CONSTITUTION:When a cloth 23 is nipped by a holder 24 of the head 1 of sewing machine 1, a cloth 15 at a suction/blowout hole 8 is turned on to actuated a blower 20, and a cloth suction plate 11 prevents fall in the direction ahead due to the weight of the cloth, and load on a needle 6 is prevented. When a motor 22 is driven, suction of the blower 20 is stopped, and switching is made to the blowup side, which make it easy for the cloth 23 to move. When the cloth 23 is sent to the rear part of the head 1 of sewing machine, another cloth sensor 16 is turned ON to actuate a blower 21, and suction is started to allow a cloth suction plate 12 to prevent fall to the back side due to the weight of the cloth.
