Power circuit null for traveling-wave-tube amplifier

PURPOSE:To protect a travelling-wave tube amplifier (TWT) and a power supply circuit without turning the TWT off so as to continue regular operation by reducing anode voltage of the TWT temporarily when there is discontinuous noise. CONSTITUTION:When the signal delivered from a protective circuit 12 by discontinuous noise is input to a detection circuit 14, the actuation of the protective circuit 12 is detected by the detection circuit 14 and an anode voltage reduction signal b is sent to a command control circuit 13, as well as a power source stop signal a is delivered to an inhibit circuit 18. When the command control circuit 14 receives the anode voltage reduction signal b, an anode voltage reduction command signal c is delivered to a high pressure circuit 11, which reduces the voltage for an anode electrode A that is supplied to a TWT 2. When abnormality happens due to discontinuous noise, the stopping of power supply to a TWT can be prevented from being put into a locked condition, and the TWT and a power supply circuit to TWT can thus be protected.
