PURPOSE:To obtain the title solution for polymerization of an ethylenic double bond-containing monomer consisting of proteins and anionic polysaccharides, having specific pH, capable of providing a polymer having high whiteness, free from toxicity and causing no deposition of scale even when a polymerization vessel made of a stainless steel is used. CONSTITUTION:The aimed solution consisting of (A) proteins (e.g. egg white albumin or nucleohistone) and (B) anionic polysaccharides (e.g. pectin, hyaluronic acid or carboxymethyl starch) and being =7 in pH. The solution is previously applied to the inner wall face of a polymerization vessel and dried and a coating film is formed to carry out polymerization of a monomer [e.g. vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate, (meth)acrylic acid, styrene or butadiene] having an ethylenic double bond.
