PURPOSE:To decrease clogging of the side face of a rotary separating drum so that the separator can be continuously operated by consisting the separator of a rotary type separator provided with the rotary separating drum and providing separating members to the peripheral face by the effect of centrifugal force. CONSTITUTION:A garbage storage drum 1 which is freely rotatable by means of a driving device 9 is formed with a discharge port in the front end part and a feed port in the rear end part respectively and is internally provided with spiral vanes 2. A scraping vane 3 is disposed near the feed port in the drum. The separator 5 which separates the garbage fed together with the air through a garbage feed port pipe 10 and the air is disposed to the feed port of the drum 1. The separator 5 is the rotary type separator provided with the rotary separating drum 5-1 which is constituted of a member allowing passage of the air from the garbage feed port 10 and is communicated at the discharge end with an air discharge pipe 11. As a result, the sepn. efficiency and garbage compressing and storing efficiency are improved; in addition, the device is capable of withstanding the continuous operation over a long period of time.
