PURPOSE:To simplify the roll rearranging operation and to surely perform the operation by providing a cylinder restricting roll positions at roll rearrangement with a pressure oil high and low switching means. CONSTITUTION:For a hydraulic cylinder 13 moving a work chock 6 in the roll axial direction through a lever 28 and an element 29, branch pipes 57, 58 and solenoid switching valves 59, 60 are installed in parallel to each other at intermediate positions on a pressure oil supply side pipe 56 respectively and a pressure reducing valve 61 is set on the branch pipe 58. In the same way, parallel branch pipes 63 and 64 are set on a pressure oil discharge side pipe 62 and the solenoid switching valves 59 and 60 are connected to an intermediate position of both branch pipes 63 and 64, respectively. The valve 59 is opened, the valve 60 is closed, and a high pressure line 57 is activated during usual rolling works; the pressure is switched to the low pressure line to weaken the operating force of the cylinder 13 at roll rearrangement. Thus, opening and closing resistances of a clamp plate 31, so that the roll rearranging operation is simplified and surely performed.
