PURPOSE:To obtain a Demain's modified medium preservable over a long period without causing discoloration or deterioration of properties, by adding one more more kinds of sugars selected from mannitol, saccharose, trehalose and sorbitol to Demain's modified medium. CONSTITUTION:Demain's modified medium used in Guthrie's method for the determination of amino acid in blood is added with one or more kinds of sugars selected from mannitol, sachharose, trehalose and sorbitol. The content of the sugar is preferably 2-10g per 1,000ml of the medium.
