PURPOSE: To obtain a stomach poisoning agent for ants, comprising a chironomid, preferably prepared by drying the chironomid and powdering the dried chironomid and satisfactory to all aspects of attractant, controlling effects, etc., and having the excellent attractant effects. ;CONSTITUTION: This stomach poisoning agent comprises a chironomid, i.e., Tokunagayusurika akamusi TOKUNAGA of the family Chironomidae of the order Diptera and other insects of the family Chironomidae, preferably dried powder thereof. An insecticide such as a pyrethroid-based insecticide, a silaneophane-based insecticide or boric acid or an adjuvant such as a solid carrier or an organic raw material may be used in combination. This agent has high attractant effects and is capable of manifesting excellent controlling effects on not only ants such as Formica japonica Motschulsky, Tetramorium caespitum Linnaeus or Crematogaster osakensis Forel but also unpleasant insect pests such as a myriapod, a millipede or a pill-bug.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
