HEAT SINK, HEAT-SINK MOUNTING UTENSIL USED FOR THE HEAT SINK AND PORTABLE ELECTRONIC APPARATUS USING THE HEAT SINK

PURPOSE:To effectively cool a heat-generating element without disturbing its mounting efficiency. CONSTITUTION:A fan assembly 2 is housed in a heat-sink body 1 formed of a material whose heat conductivity is good, and the fixed wall 4 to a heat- generating element 3 of the heat-sink body 1 is air-cooled forcibly by the fan assembly 2. When it is air-cooled, sheetlike or pin-shaped cooling fins 6 are installed on the heat-sink body 1. The mounting position of the fan assembly 2 to the heat-sink body 1 is set in the center of the heat-sink body 1 or in a position which has been offset from the center. Such a heat sink H can be assembled in a portable electronic apparatus.
