PURPOSE: To quickly determine the concentration of chlorhexisine gluconate in disinfectant liquid by determining it by the use of an indicating test paper which is impregnated with bromophenol blue into a paper support. ;CONSTITUTION: Indicator liquid is prepared by adding dilute nitric acid to the solution containing bromophenol blue, sodium acetate, ethanol acetate, and water, and after absorbing this indicator liquid into a paper support, it is dried at room temperature or temperature of 80°C so as to manufacture an indicating test paper. Usually, ethanol 100-200ml and dilute nitric acid 10-40ml are added to the solution mixing 0.1-0,3N sodium acetate solution 50-150ml, 0.1-0.3N acetic acid 600-1000ml, and 0.1% bromophenol blue 60-100ml, so as to prepare the indicator liquid. Filter paper or the like is used as a paper support. The lower limit of coloring concentration can be regulated by addition of dilute nitric acid. When the indicating test paper is contacted with the solution of over 0.05% concentration of chlorhexisine gluconate, the color of it is changed from light yellow to blue, and at under the concentration it is not discolored.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
