IMPARTING OF AROMATIC CHARACTERISTIC TO PERFUMING COMPOSITION OR PERFUMED ARTICLE, AND REINFORCING, IMPROVING OR MODULATING THE SAME, PERFUMING COMPOSITION OR PERFUMED ARTICLE, AND NEW COMPOUND
PURPOSE: To give a fresh and green odor note of rosy type characteristic and an effect of original, profitable aromatic characteristic by adding tetrahydro-4- methyl-2-phenyl-2H-pyran. ;CONSTITUTION: The mixture of 5,6-dihydro-4-methyl-2-phenyl-2H-pyran and tetrahydro-4-methylene-2-phenyl-2H-pyran, in an autoclave, is hydrogenated in ethyl alcohol in the presence of charcoal supported with Pd, to obtain tetrahydro-4-methyl-2-phenyl-2H-pyran. Tetrahydro-4-methyl-2-phenyl-2H-pyran of 0.1 wt.% is added to perfuming compositions and perfumed articles.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
