PURPOSE: To prolong the life time of a cutting blade and manufacture a metallic mold easily, by suppressing the generation of burr even when the material thickness of the material to be worked is very small, and by performing the cut-working of a high quality. ;CONSTITUTION: When striking a work 4 with a V-notch punch 7, the space between a die 5 and a compression-sandwiching supporter 6 is set larger than the thickness of the work 4. Thereby, a V-groove is formed through the striking operation caused by the V-notch punch 7, and the work 4 is deflected between the die 5 and the compression-sandwiching supporter 6. Then, the penetrating position of the V-notch punch 7 is so regulated as to be an intermediate position of the thickness of the work 4, and the V-notch punch 7 is stopped in the penetrating position. Subsequently, the work 4 is compression-sandwiched, narrowing the compression-sandwiched space between the die 5 and the compression- sandwiching supporter 6.
