PURPOSE: To produce a titanium base composite material free from material anisotropy and having high fatigue strength at high dimensional accuracy or high shape accuracy by mixing, compacting and sintering a titanium, powder of alloy element and a specified amount of reinforcing grain and performing a specified hot working, cooling and an annealing treatment. ;CONSTITUTION: Titanium powder, powder for adding alloy elements and 3 to 30wt.% powder for adding reinforcing grains are mixed, and compacting and sintering are executed. As the powder for adding alloy elements, the powder of alloy elements or a mother alloy is used. Furthermore, as the powder for adding reinforcing grains, TiC powder, TiB2 powder, B4C powder or the like are suitable used. The obtd. stock is subjected to hot working at the β transformation point of the composite material matrix to 1300°C and is cooled at the cooling rate of air cooling or above.
