PURPOSE: To improve grinding accuracy in work grinding process for whith automatic shift operation. is used, by compensating a phase shift between a grinding wheel and a work produced by shifting the grinding wheel automati cally. ;CONSTITUTION: When a shift motor shifts a grinding wheel automatically for every work, the grinding wheel rotating under the effect of the grinding wheel spindle motor and a work rotating under the effect of the work spindle motor (step S11) are fitted with each other under the effect of a notching motor (step S12), a phase difference between the grinding wheel and the work is detected (step S13), and the phase difference is corrected to the preset phase difference (step S15) so as to correct the phase shift produced by automatic shift.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
