COSMIC-RAY DATA COLLECTION APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To collect data at high speed, to prevent data from lacking and to enhance the reliability of the title apparatus by a method wherein a measured- signal collection means requests to transfer, and stores, cosmic-ray measured data only from a measuring and processing means which has output a data- contained signal out of a plurality of measuring and processing means. ;CONSTITUTION: A plurality of photomultiplier tubes 21₁ to 21_n convert beams of detected Cerenkov light into current pulse signals as cosmic-ray detection signals and output them individually. In individual ATM's 22₁ to 22_n as data measuring means, cosmic-ray measured data is formed on the basis of the cosmic-ray detection signals individually input from the individual photomultiplier tubes 21₁ to 21_n, and data present signals indicating that the cosmic-ray measured data are sent out. Consequently, a low-order interface 28 requests to transfer from only the ATM which has found the cosmic-ray measured data out of the ATM's 22₁ to 22_n, and the cosmic-ray measured data are stored in BANK memories 29a, 29b. Thereby, data can be collected with good efficiency and at high speed, and it is possible to prevent data from lacking.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
