PURPOSE: To obtain a 5C or higher fraction in a high yield from naphtha by using a low-Re-content Pt-Re catalyst in a lead reactor and using a Pt-Ir-Sn catalyst in a tail reactor. ;CONSTITUTION: This reforming is carried out in a reforming apparatus comprising a plurality of reactors connected in series. Its lead reactor contains a catalyst comprising 0.1-1 wt.% Pt and 0.01-0.1 wt.% Re supported by an inorg. oxide support. The tail reactor contains a tin-modified platinum - iridium catalyst which comprises 0.1-1 wt.% Pt, 0.1-1 wt.% Ir, and 0.02-0.4 wt.% Sn and in which the metals are uniformly dispersed throughout the inorg. oxide support. Pref., the catalyst comprises composite particles contg. a hydrogenating- dehydrogenating component and a halogen component in addition to the support substance and is pref. sulfurized.
